Video Lending Library

Watching the videos qualifies as informal training hours and meets minimum DHS licensing requirements. Check with your licensing worker for these specific requirements. A Video Lending Library Training Verification Form will be enclosed per video to serve as your documentation of video training time. Documentation of video training hours may also be submitted to the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) at the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD).

How to Borrow Videos

You may browse the Video Lending Library catalog and place your order online, or use the order form links available above. Orders can also be placed by telephone, email, or fax. A Spanish version of the catalog and forms used for the library are also available upon request.

Guidelines for Borrowing and Returning Videos

  • You may check out up to 4 videos at a time. Once the videos are received, they must be viewed and returned within 2 weeks. (CECPD Educators: please contact the library for ordering information.)
  • Upon receiving your videos, you may order more videos with the Video Order Form, found on the backside of the enclosed Return slip.
  • The only cost to the caregiver involves the postage to return the video(s). Videos are considered media rate or book rate postage, which is less expensive. Contact your local post office for rate. When returning the videos, please include your return address on the envelope. Use the correct “ship to” address:

    CECPD
    1801 N. Moore Avenue
    Moore, OK 73160-3667

  • Videos are available exclusively to Oklahoma residents.
  • An Individual Study Record will be enclosed per video to serve as your verification of training. Because the Department of Human Services limits the amount of annual training a provider can receive by video, please refer to your Licensing Standards book for the number of hours.
  • A Video Lending Library Training Verification Form will be enclosed for each video to serve as your documentation of video training time. Documentation of video training hours may also be submitted to the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) at the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD).
  • To prevent video damage, we request that videos be returned in a padded envelope. (Envelopes received from the Video Lending Library may be reused if they are in good condition. Additional sealing is required on reused envelopes.)
  • You are responsible for the videos you borrow and you will be billed for lost or damaged videos. Failure to return the videos within a timely manner as requested will affect your eligibility for future services through this office.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I keep the videos?
The video check out time is 2 weeks. (CECPD Educators, please contact the library for ordering information.) The library will provide a due date on each package. The videos within the library vary in length. The training hours are considered the exact length of the video. For example: a 20 minute video is worth 20 minutes of informal training.

Do I receive a certificate for video training?
Video training does not have a formal certificate.
Each video is shipped out with a Training Verification Form. The provider is responsible for answering a brief questionnaire regarding the content of the video. You will keep this form for your records and return the videos and the Return Slip back to the library. This form will be recognized as your video training verification. Please see the Library Information for specific instructions.

What if my videos are damaged or I lost them during my check out period?
You are responsible for the videos you borrow. You will be billed for lost or damaged videos. Please contact the CECPD Lending Library for any questions regarding lost or damaged videos. Failure to return the videos will affect your eligibility for future services with CECPD.
